Hello! Welcome To My Website

Hello World! Is this working?

Hi everyone! I am Aaron Paul Suarez, a student who is into development and hardware. So excited that I am posting my first blog post on the internet. Now, I wanted to discuss what the things are that I might share on this website, so let’s gets started!

Why This?

I’ve been into the idea of creating my own website since I began surfing the internet in the 2000s. As curious as a child, I wonder some questions like, how do they show their stuff on the internet and what are the things needed to do this website anyways?. Upon learning the hows and the whats in web development I found out that it is as simple as it can be.

I’ve decided to use Hugo because it is the perfect tool for me to build my website (which I’ve learned a lot about) instead of some sites like Medium, WordPress, or Blogger.

I also wanted to practice my writing skills with the languages I know (Tagalog and English).

Maybe I can make my posts in Tagalog too. 🤔

Posts you can look forward to

Here are the things you can expect from my posts at my website!

Web Development

I may post related to web development, such as news, updates, and trends that I find interesting to share in this field. Additionally, I may also provide some projects and experiences that I may as well document and share with anyone reading this! Since this is my first time hosting a static website on the internet, I am definitely sharing the stuff I learned throughout the process of building this website.

Game Development

Definitely a guy who loves video games 🎮 since the day I got my first handheld gaming console, a Game Boy Advance SP. From that day on, I was always fascinated how it blends creative (such as art and music) and technical aspects (programming and design), which, in my opinion is, one of the challenging areas of development. Although you don’t have to be great in every skill in this area to create a great game, it can be only just one or two.

Other than that, I may also share some of the projects I made and contributed to alongside some game jam experiences I’m partaking in.

Homelabbing

I’ve been breaking stuff since childhood when I got my toys and action figures, like removing screws and bolts and then bringing them apart. For some reason, this might be the same reason I got into this hobby of sorts. I’m interested in how computer components work together and how to assemble them from numerous parts, whether it is a desktop or a server.

I’m also into self-hosting, which gives a new level of control to the services I’ve used before—cool stuff! Lastly, I can pair this with my web development stuff for testing and sandboxing.

Miscellaneous

There is going to be some unrelated too good not to share with anyone, however I still have no idea what those things I might share. The great thing is that Hugo provides taxonomies (such as tags and categories), so I can organize them properly. Neat!

Final thoughts

I’m pretty nervous about how this id going to be, as this is my first blog to be shown on the internet, which is definitely different from using social media.

Aside from that, I’m posting some stuff maybe once or twice a month, and in the same time, I’m also excited to be writing, as this also practices my writing skills in English.

Pretty much that’s it! So until next time, see ya!
